About the Event

Our Egg Hunt for Good is an opportunity for kids of all ages to experience an Easter Egg Hunt in a new way!

Step 1: Bring non-perishable food items to benefit local food pantries and place them in our donation bins. (Or give a financial donation using our QR codes at the event!)

Step 2: Search for eggs on the LeBauer Park Great Lawn using a scavenger hunt map.

Step 3: Trade in your eggs for a free bag of treats to take home!

Step 4: Enjoy activities, crafts, and snacks as a family as we celebrate the gift of Easter!

Optional Step 5: If you’re a grown-up, join us for some fun at our Adult Egg Hunt (see details below)!

Why an Egg Hunt for Good?

We believe Easter reminds us that God’s love is for everyone.  Just like Jesus loved to turn things upside down to help us think about what really matters, we want to combine the joy of an Egg Hunt with the joy of generosity to make a tangible difference for our neighbors.

New this year:  An egg hunt for adults!

Want to relive the fun of your childhood and do good at the same time?  Adults in the community are invited to bring food donations/make a financial donation to receive an entry ticket to participate in the Adult Egg Hunt at 4:15pm.  Adults will be grouped into teams that will work together to win cash donations for 5 local non-profits that support food insecurity!  Organization Donations will be awarded as follows: First Place: $1500, Second Place: $1250, Third Place: $1000, Fourth Place: $750, Fifth Place: $500.

Our Donation Recipients:

All non-perishable food items and on-site financial gifts will be donated to Spartan Open Pantry and Aggie Source Food Pantry, both of which benefit Greensboro-area college students experiencing food insecurity.  Our cash prizes from our Adult Egg Hunt will be distributed to 5 local non-profits that support food insecurity.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Who can come?

All families with children are welcome!  Our activities will be geared toward toddlers through upper elementary.  We’ll also have our Adult Egg Hunt at 4:15pm!

Is there a cost to participate?

This is a free event!   It is our hope that participants bring non-perishable food donations to be a blessing to our neighbors.  We’ll also have QR codes available for anyone who’d like to support our partner food pantries financially.

Is this a timed or age-based egg hunt?

Egg hunts for children will be at 3:00pm, 3:15pm, 3:30pm, 3:45pm, and 4:00pm.  Upon arrival, please gather near the rainbow arch to drop off your food donations, be welcomed by our greeters, and receive your scavenger hunt instruction sheet.  Our MC will announce the start of each egg hunt.  There will be a smaller roped off area for children ages 3 and under.  An adult, team-based egg hunt benefiting local hunger organizations will be at 4:15pm (children and spectators are welcome to cheer the teams on and watch as the winners are announced!).

How do I sign up to participate in the Adult Egg Hunt?

Option 1: Bring non-perishable food donations on the day of the event to receive an entry ticket to the Adult Egg Hunt which will begin at 4:15pm.  Option 2: Make a financial donation here by selecting the “Egg Hunt for Good” designated fund – all financial donations will be split evenly and distributed to our partner food pantries – NC A&T’s Aggie Source Food Pantry and UNCG’s Spartan Open Pantry.  Please print your receipt and bring it to the event for your entry ticket.  Please note: Entry tickets are only required for the adult egg hunt at 4:15pm.  Upon arrival, you will be placed on one of 5 teams and given instructions before having lots of fun!

Will there be candy inside the eggs?

Instead of candy-filled eggs, kids will trade in their eggs to create a treat bag with prepackaged sweets and other non-edible goodies.
